Founded in 2022 and based in Mexico City, UPLAW - The Legal Company is a principal-led legal company that engineers legal certainty for corporate clients. We provide integrated corporate, compliance, and litigation counsel under a single, structured approach—treating legal matters as systems to be designed and managed. By aligning legal strategy, risk management, and operational frameworks, we protect value and enable confident business decisions in Mexico and across borders. Our work is defined by method, precision, and judgment, giving clients the clarity and control they need to operate successfully in complex legal environments.
Our attorneys are trained at Mexico’s leading law schools, including UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México) and Escuela Libre de Derecho, and bring over a decade of experience advising domestic and international clients. We regularly assist foreign companies entering or operating in Mexico and represent clients from the United States, Spain, and the Netherlands. Our practice integrates corporate advisory, soft landing services, regulatory and compliance work, intellectual property, and strategic litigation, with a strong emphasis on prevention and risk control. We act as long-term legal partners, focused not on isolated tasks, but on building legal certainty through disciplined, forward-looking counsel.

Manuel Mansilla Moya, Esq.
Founder | Principal Counsel
Manuel Mansilla Moya is the founder of UPLAW – The Legal Company and serves as principal counsel on all matters handled by the firm. He is a bilingual attorney (Spanish–English) trained at Escuela Libre de Derecho, one of Mexico’s most rigorous and selective law schools. His practice focuses on corporate advisory, compliance, and strategic dispute prevention, with a strong emphasis on risk analysis, legal structure, and decision-making support for business leaders.
Manuel advises both Mexican and international companies, particularly in cross-border contexts, and is actively involved in each matter from assessment through resolution. He is a member of LIDS Global, the international development and law network of Harvard Law School, and regularly works with foreign clients navigating the Mexican legal and regulatory environment.
At UPLAW, Manuel leads all legal matters directly, defining strategy, supervising execution, and remaining personally accountable for outcomes.
Alejandro Moreno Morrison, Esq.
Of Counsel
Alejandro Moreno Morrison is a senior corporate and financial law attorney with over 33 years of professional experience in private practice, government, and multinational corporations. He holds an LL.B. from Escuela Libre de Derecho and is fully bilingual (Spanish–English).
His background includes senior legal roles within the Mexican federal government and global corporations, including service as Associate General Counsel for the Mexican entity of an international bank and as sole counsel in Mexico for multinational companies. His experience provides a deep understanding of how legal decisions operate within complex organizations.
In addition to Mexican law, he is well-versed in relevant legal and regulatory frameworks of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe, allowing him to advise clients with a truly international and in-house–oriented perspective.
At UPLAW, he acts as senior strategic counsel, supporting principal-led decision-making on high-impact matters.
Eduardo Antonio Sotelo Lugo
Associate (in training)
Eduardo Antonio Sotelo Lugo is an associate in training at UPLAW and a law student at Escuela Libre de Derecho. He supports corporate, compliance, and dispute-related matters through legal research, analysis, drafting, and procedural support in ongoing court proceedings, all carried out under the direct supervision of senior counsel.
His role forms part of the firm’s structured training model, focused on rigor, method, and professional discipline.
Julián Cortés Sánchez
Associate (in training)
Julián Cortés Sánchez is an associate in training at UPLAW and a law student at UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México). He assists in corporate and litigation matters through legal research, documentation, and procedural support in ongoing court proceedings, as part of the firm’s integrated legal workflow.
His role forms part of UPLAW’s principal-led model, where execution and follow-up are conducted within clearly defined processes and under senior oversight.
